Here's why we celebrate Labour day ...?

Do you know why we celebrate Labour day......

1st of may , observed as Labour day / Maharashtra din ( In Marathi) is celebrated widely in respect of all the working staff that has given their whole lives serving this nation . But little did you know that that why we celebrate Labour day.

The state reorganization act in 1956 gave boundaries to the states according to the languages spoken by different communities . The Bombay province that was formed due to this act had a variety of different people living in the province such as Marathi, Gujarati , Kutchhi kokani, and many more .The sanyukat Maharashtra samiti was at the forefront of this moment and it divided  Bombay into two parts in one part the Marathi and kokani lived and in other Gujarati and Kutchhi lived.

This led to the formation of Gujarat and Bombay as separate states and according to the Bombay recognition act 1960 adopted by the parliament in 1960 and came into influence  on 1st may 1960 , and is the reason we celebrate Labour day.
